Besides the famous slopes of Limone and Mondolè, the area offers lots of other possibilities: nordic skiiing on the nature trails of the Parco dell'Alta Valle Pesio,  the trails  of Entracque for cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snow biking and snowshoeing in Parco delle Alpi Marittime, and several other paths in less crowded places where nature is still largely untouched, like Festiona, Lurisia, and Aisone-Vinadio.

Fossano Mirabilia is one of the major European festivals of street theater. In early June, the old town is transformed into an open air stage, with more than 40 performances animating the streets and squares and delighting thousands of visitors from all over Europe.

Italy&USA Alba Music Festival, an exciting, spectacular journey through the most prestigious places in the city of wine and in the Castles, Churches and picturesque corners of the Langhe. Artistic direction by Giuseppe Nova.

Monfortinjazz, jazz festival with artists of world renown. Takes place in July in Monforte d'Alba, in the Horszowsky auditorium, an amphitheater high above the historical center, next to the Confraternita di Sant'Agostino, with the stage that caresses the walls of the Cappella delle Umiliate. Great concerts there every summer!

Festival Mistà, classical, jazz, and world music concerts in the countless picturesque villages in the alpine valleys. In July.

Fabbrica dei suoni (in Venasca, 30 km from Fossano). The first Italian theme park devoted entirely to sound and music.

Nearby you can easily reach Teatro Milanollo (Savigliano, in piazza Turletti, 14 km from Palazzo Righini), a small neoclassical jewel built in the 1800s; Teatro Toselli (Cuneo, in Via Teatro Toselli, 24 km from Palazzo Righini), which organizes a rich season of prose, musical and children's theater; Teatro Sociale Giorgio Busca  (Alba, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 30 km from Palazzo Righini); Teatro Carlo Marenco (Ceva, in Pallavicini, 40 km from Palazzo Righini).

 

A great gastronomic tradition, a territory of local excellence, the home of Slow Food; Piedmont tickles the taste and stimulates the five senses.

7000 hectares cultivated with hazelnut trees make the province of Cuneo an impressive landscape and crown the hazelnut, the small, tasty, fine quality nut.

Foremost among the cheeses are Raschera, with its delicate flavor, the soft-textured Piedmontese Toma aged in traditional caves for at least 60 days, and Bra, a raw cheese with a pleasant aroma. The event Cheese , held every two years in Alba, is an important showcase for this fine food.

Another high-quality product is the meat, which La Granda has become the promoter for with a new idea of production, attention to the raw material, the healthiness of the livestock and the taste. The DOP recognition for “prosciutto crudo di Cuneo” is a sign of the care and attention paid to  local quality products.

37 km from Fossano you reach Barolo, in the middle of the Langa. A land filled with valuable vines, a fascinating  hilly landscape and an itinerary of the great wineries: the grandi cantine. The wine route of Langhe e Roero is here. Certainly worth visiting are the cappella del Barolo and La Morra, a treasure trove of modern colors that celebrates the fine wine.

The Museo del vino is housed in Barolo Castle. 180 labels of wine to help you get to know the culture, history, traditions and economy related to wine production.

The Museo dei cavatappi is a small, intelligent jewel of a museum. A unique collection of 500 examples of corkscrews, evidence of creativity and ingenuity.

Just a few grams are enough to embellish a dish and stir up emotions. In Piedmont  the White Truffle of Alba is what adds a touch of nobility to the kitchen, giving off an intense and overwhelming aroma.

The Fiera del Tartufo takes place in Alba in the autumn, from 8 October to 13 November. The heart of the Fair  is the International Truffle Market, which brings together truffle hunters, merchants and great fans. At the end of the Fair the International Truffle Auction is held, an event that draws an audience of onlookers and fans from as far away as Japan.

 

A corner of Piedmont rich in beautiful (togliere) historic villages, little jewels surrounded by ancient walls, aristocratic homes and views of the landscape where the past lives on.

A few meters from Palazzo Righini is the eye-catching Castello degli Acaya, framed by the backdrop of the mountains.

The Filatoio di Caraglio, 40 km from Fossano, is the oldest silk factory in Europe. You can visit the rooms that house the impressive silk twisting, spinning wheels, the old 17th mill and the international exhibition halls. Beautiful spaces that hold both masterpieces of contemporary works of art and works of the past.

Palazzo Salmatoris e la Chiesa di San Gregorio in Cherasco, 23 km from Fossano, are home to a rich program of art exhibitions and art shows.

The Museo Diocesano di Fossano houses important works of sacred art: paintings, sculptures and artifacts used for religious functions. Works imbued with sacredness from the Parishes of the Religious Dioceses, collected and restored with great skill and care.
